Just want to add my father’s name to the list. Laurence Charles Barnes, King’s Royal Rifles, Captured at Calais
I have letters from him to mum on camp letter cards. Happy to scan them and anything else to you for the museum.
Dad did the long march, liberated by the Russians and escaped and recaptured. He worked at the sugar factory and stole sugar and sold to the guards.
Also, he worked with road gangs breaking rocks.
