From Linda Neaves nee Bourner. 21/05/2024

Gordon Bourner, my father, was captured at Amiens on 20th May 1940. He became a POW until he escaped at the end of 1944. He reached Odessa in early March 1945, where he was able to board a repatriation ship.

In the 1980s he wrote an account of his war experience. Since my mother died in 2021 we have found further details. i.e. all the camps he stayed in, photos and letters. He died aged 77 yrs in 1996.

Gordon was my grandfather, and a gentle spirit. He and his wife Joan were both true war heros and we miss them both greatly.
