Brown, A C
Private Arthur Cecil Brown
My father was a prisoner in Stalag VIIIB for 5 years.
My father’s name was Arthur Cecil Brown.
He was a private in the 7th Battalion the Royal Sussex Regiment.
His army number was 6402383 and his POW number was 16030.
I still have (and treasure) his dog tags, some letters sent from the camp to his parents and some photos.
I don’t know if he is the Pte Brown already listed, who won the cricket ball throwing competition (Clarion 6/14) but Dad was good at throwing balls!
He was taken prisoner in May 1940 near Amiens, following the bombing of their train at Saint-Roch station, Amiens. You can read about this incident on http://www.7throyalsussex.uk/
I have attached some copies and hope they are of interest to you.
I have more photos if you would like them.
