Subject: Joseph Button POW No 96355 Stalag 344

My Grandfather, Joseph Button, was a POW at Stalag VIIIB. His details are below. He died in 1963. The nurses at the time said to his stepdaughter that he was an incredibly brave man who escaped numerous times. He apparently used to shuffle on his feet in the 50s and this could have been from injuries sustained. I’m in the process of retrieving his army records.
