I would like to add our father’s name to your list he was at Lamsdorf and on the March.
His name, George Edward Cardus, he was at other camps as well:
Stalag VIIIB, Stalag VIIA, Stalag 383 Hohenfels and PG 52 (Italy.)
He was originally captured in 1942 after being torpedoed during the Malta convoys on the HMS Bedouin.
He escaped from Stalag 383 and helped liberate the town of Hohenburg with 3 other POWS. the town surrendered and they stayed until the Americans took over.
