Informant: Niece, Wendy Truman and Interrogation Report from Australian Military.

They were surrounded by enemy tanks at El Alamein.  During Sept 1942 was interned at PG 29.

Others captured with him were held at: – Benghazi {palm Tree), Brindisi PG 85: Bari PG 75 :Gruppignano PG 57: -Vercelli PG106. Captured with Clarkson:

Blowfield, Commershall, Hungerford, Wainwright, Fitzgerald, Vicar, Paton, Ryan, Powell, Sproule, Morley.

Clarkson and Blowfield escaped from PG106 and went to Collabiano where they stayed for approximately for 1 week They left by bus for Fiana del Ponte where they had been promised food and a guide to escort them to Switzerland. Neither was forthcoming so after 3 days, they went to Graglia where they remained until OCT 44.
