Information provided by Jim MacNeil

I wonder if you have any record of a Canadian soldier Robert Coleman sent to Stalag VIIIB following the Dieppe Raid.

We have a picture of him saying goodbye in 1945 to the family of the farm where he was assigned to work for several years.

The name written on the back of the picture is faded, but seems to be Esjdar—-da , or Esftar—-da.

On the picture with this name is 6097 and I was wondering if the sites where prisoners were sent were given registration numbers. Have you seen a farm or work location with the number 6097?

Please include as much information and pictures as you can so that we can create a record of each man’s experience. With tens of thousands of POW records already on site please help us if you can by including at least one of the following: service number, POW number or date of birth.
