My Godfather, Bernard Cowie, was a POW at Stalag VIIIB/344 Lamsdorf. I am sorry I do not know which regiment he served in or any other details of his time in the army in WW2. Though I think he may have been a driver for REME. He suffered from terrible gastric problems whilst a prisoner and the Doctor [presumably German] did many operations on him from which he never really recovered until he died in the 1990’s.
