Subject: Rowland Forder – Essex Regiment

 

My father, Rowland Forder, was 19 years of age when he was captured in Italy. He was reported missing on 22/04/1944. He was held in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf.  Service Number 14655721. During his captivity he laboured in a coal mine.

After the war my father went on to become an electrician spending most of his working life at Cantley sugar beet factory near Norwich. He died in Taverham, Norwich on 29 October 2010.

My father’s war record can be confirmed by the Keeper of the Essex Regiment.

I have attached a photo of my father which was taken during his military service.
