Zygmunt spent time in Russian Lagiers Starobielsk + Putyvl, Stalags XXA Torun, VI-J Krefeld-Fichenhain , VI-A Hemer, VI-K, Senne VII-AMoosburg

Was of captured at Lipicia Dolna, on the eastern front (SE of Llow) on 09.19.1939-

I know this information from French Attestation papers, correspondence from numerous Stalags regarding his POW time, museums, historians, websites and International Tracing Service documents. I also made a trip to Poland and Stalag XXA and the site of his capture.

I have been following my dad’s unspoken trail after he passed and I retired. My research continues for any further clues to his service/post war life.

He was a Russian/German POW from 1939-1945, then in a Displaced Person’s (DP) camp from 1945-1953. He then immigrated to America.

As a result of my efforts, Dad was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit in 2019 from the Polish Government. I have documented my research in a blog at: rfrack.blogspot.com It has had over 15,00 views.
