Data source: Commonwealth War Graves Commission initially then his Service Record.

Arthur was in the rnd Battalion, the Wiltshire Regiment,  C Company.

He was held in Stalag XXA Fort 13/13A and spent time in Working Party: Camp 172

Arthur is reported to have died on 28th February, 1945. This is probably the day his death had been notified to the authorities, not the day he died.

According to the CWGC Graves Concentration Report Form he was originally buried at Wieborj (due to pronunciation it is probably Wiecbork (called Vandsburg by the Germans in 1939).

The date of his reburial in the Old Garrison Cemetery, Poznan was 8th October, 1948. I think its 24th January, 1945 when the march from Fort 13 had reached Wiecbork.
