I am busy with a PhD on South African POWs during the Second World War. The following were South African POWs who were in Lamsdorf camp following the armistice in Italy:

Ike Rosmarin;

Peter Ogilvy;

Fred van Alphen Stahl; and

Herbert Rhodes ‘Aussie’ Hammond (he was registered in Stalag VIIIA, but then transferred to work camp 4008 which fell under Lamsdorf camp control. He was called Aussie because he spent time in Australia before the war and had an Australian accent – but he was South African).
