Reginald Hassall

I have a copy of my father’s service record, which shows him initially missing in Egypt, then in Italy (Rome?) Camp 66, P.M. 3400 on 5/11/42. He was then transferred to C.C. 78, P.M. 3300 on 20/11/42. Following that, it seems that he was then transferred to Stalag VIIIB, POW No 34708 on 8/12/43. He was repatriated to UK and admitted to Botley’s Park Hospital, Chertsey on 19/5/45.

I have copied the above detail from his service record, though I am unfamiliar with the abbreviations. I am hoping that you may be able to clarify the detail for me! [P.M. = posta militare/postcode of the camp; C.C. = campo di concentramento/concentration camp]

Further to my first email:

My father, Reginald Hassall, was in the Cheshire Regiment. His Army Number was 4123960, rank of Private.
