Hibbert, A B
Private Arthur B Hibbert
I am asking whether the following name could be added to the list of prisoners who were incarcerated at Lamsdorf .
The person in question was my uncle,
Arthur Boyd Hibbert, Private,
British P.O.W. number 35796,
who served with the R.A.M.C having been enlisted as a medical orderly. He was a Conscientious Objector. We do not have his British Army number.
We believe he was on the Long March.
On his release from the prison camp at the end of the war he became an historian & academic, being a Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge.
He died in December 2013 aged 95. It is only since his death that we have learned any details of his history during the war
I and my family would be grateful if his name could be added to the list of men who endured the ordeal of Stalag 344.
Yours sincerely,
David Robinson
