My father was in the Royal Signals & was captured on Crete in approx 1941. He was taken to Stalag VIIIB. My father has now passed away & never spoke a word about his captivity. We have found a diary with place names & distances, which we have since found out was the death march which he survived. We have letters sent to my mother who was his next door neighbour then. On the letters we have work party numbers: E228 E540 E579. My dad was a member of the entertainment party working as an electrician.
