George Henry Jary 7-10-1908 /6-1-1956 was a prisoner at Stalag VIIIB/344 from 17/10/1943-17/5/1945 and was transferred there from P.O.W. Camp number 35, Certosa di Padula Monastery, near Salerno, Italy where he had been 27/1-1942-16/10/1943. While he was a P O W he had been shot in the back of the neck. He was my wife’s father, and he did not return for 6 months after the war had finished.
