Alexander Keir
Recently, my mother (91) gave me some group photos from the Lamsdorf POW camp that had belonged to my late father, Alexander Keir. He had been a POW at Lamsdorf for 4 years.
My father kept a diary during the Long March, from January 1945 until his rescue by the Americans. This is now in my possession. It also includes the names and addresses of several other men.
After the war, my father belonged to a group called the “Lamsdorf Loons” made up of ex-POWs living in north-eastern Scotland. They became quite famous locally for their annual reunions.
I am fascinated by the Lamsdorf website and am learning much about what my father’s life must have been like there. I hope that these photos can be added to your site.
