My father, William James Lawton (Jim Lawton) was in RE, and was captured at Dunkirk and held in Stalag VIIIB for the duration of the war.  I have recently found out that he took part in the Long March, I know he was liberated by American forces in 1945.  

 Unfortunately, this is the extent of my knowledge, but it adds a small piece to the history of the camp.
