Leonard Thomas Lees

My father, Leonard Thomas Lees, served with the Royal Fusiliers and was taken prisoner at Battapaglia after landing at Salerno. He was railed to
Lamsdorf on a coal truck and put in Stalag VIIIB. On December 26th, 1944, he left the camp and began the evacuation march, being liberated by the American Armed Forces and repatriated to England on April 7th, 1945.
He is still alive and has all his mental faculties. He turns 94 on May 8, 2012, and we are contemplating writing and publishing a book about the latter days at VIIIB and the march back across Germany and Czechoslovakia.
He lives in a nursing home in Kingsley, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.
