Esrom May (my wife’s Uncle) was shot trying to escape on 15 July 1943. A apparently he had surrendered but was shot anyway so there was an inquiry after the War but the perpetrator had vanished into the ‘fog of war.’
Esrom is buried in Poznan Old Garrison Cemetery
