Sergeant A P Mc Teer
My Father Sgt A. P. McTeer was shot down on the night of 3/4 April 1944 and was in Lamsdorf Stalag VIIIB 344 My Dad would not talk about his experiences, he has now passed away and I have been watching the TV Programme “The Long March to Freedom). On the very rare occasion he did talk he describes being liberated by the Russians who pinned a German Guard to a Toilet door with bayonets and said they would shoot anyone who helped him, also the Russians poured raw vodka down my dad’s throat to try and revive him from the cold. Also my dad spoke about being strafed by Allied aircraft.
His Service Number was 1676580 Sgt Rear Gunner Wellington mk X 150 Squadron.
