Information provided by Billy McDonald

My father Private Charles McDonald of the Gordon Highlanders, Army No. 2883129, was captured at St Valery along with his sergeant while hiding in a barn on 12 June 1940. He was sent to Stalag VIIIB where he remained for the rest of the war and we think he spent a lot of time in the hospital due to contracting pneumonia. Sadly, Charles passed away in 1966.
