Engineer Lejbisz (Leon) Mesz was my father he lived and graduated in Grenoble and in 1940 after being freed, he was able to board a boat in Bilbao and emigrate to Argentina where he passed away in 1989.

I would like to learn his prisoner number and any other records if possible. Some of the information I have found is in old papers left by my father.

Editor’s Note:- We have amended the Army to the Polish Army – no 2nd Legion’s Infantry Division served under the French army. It is possible that this man actually fought with the French army following the defeat of the Polish army in 1939.

Please include as much information and pictures as you can so that we can create a record of each man’s experience. With tens of thousands of POW records already on site please help us if you can by including at least one of the following: service number, POW number or date of birth.
