We have been tracing our ancestors and trying to track some people in our photos.  We have a photo which has cousin Syd written on the back.

We have now found some correspondence from him to my family dated 29/11/43 sent from Lamsdorf.

It appears that Cpl Sydney Edward Morcom was a POW in Stalag VIIIB. We have Gefangenennummer (which we think is camp number) 14501.

We also have a Christmas telegram from Syd dated 25/12/39 to home originating SIGS (L of C) BEF – British Expeditionary Force. This makes us believe Syd was captured in France in 1940 and interred at Stalag VIIIB for the duration of the war.
