My fathers details are as follows:

Lance Corporal Eric Goodwin Morgan. Welsh Guardsman No 2734197. Joined up 11/11/1936.

Served in Gibraltar 22/04/1939 to 06/11/1939. erved in France 07/11/39. Captured at Arras, France 06/11/39.

P.O.W. 03/06/40 to 02/09/44. Presumably Stalag VIIIB. P.O.W.  03/09/44 to 14/05/45. Possibly marched west?

Back to UK 15/05/45  to 21/05/46. In Army Reserve 22/05/46 to 08/08/46.

From correspondence I have discovered:

In winter of 41/42 he developed bronchitis in Blechhammer.

He was classed for  chronic sickness 02/01/45 in Stalag VIIIB. Classified for repatriation.  Prevented due to advancing Russians.

At some stage was in Pupping, Austria,  hospitalised at Haid. Definitely conveyed in Army truck from Pupping to Regensburg.

Embarked on plane at Regensburg – presumably to UK.
