Rupert Luxmoore Tanner Murray held the rank of Major at the point of capture but rose to a Lieutenant Colonel during his time in captivity.

After the war he lived with his mother in Tirinie [House] by Aberfeldy

He died 5th Oct 1962

There is a painting of him in the Black Watch Museum
