Subject: POW List of Names – New Entry

John (Jack) Owen

John Owen, Private in 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, Green Howards. British Army No: 4393900. POW No: 222301

Captured June 1 1942 after the Battle of Gazala.

John (known as Jack) was transported to a prison camp in Italy – Chiavari Camp 52 and then he was taken to a camp at Carpi, Camp 73.  From there they were taken to Austria and thence to Germany.  They arrived at Stalag IVB where they were processed and from there they were taken to Stalag VIII B – Lamsdorf, arriving in 1943″. John Owen (1919-1993)  survived The Long March.

We would like to have his name recorded on the Lamsdorf list of POW’s.
