Subject: Herbert Peet

My uncle (my mother’s elder brother) Herbert Peet from Keswick, Cumberland, was a P.O.W captured after fighting the rearguard action of Dunkirk. I have postcards from him dated from 15-12-1941 to 11-8-1944. I know he worked in the coal mines for part of his incarceration and learned to speak a passable German. He went to Keswick Grammar School and was in the Territorial Army when war was declared. 

    Please include as much information and pictures as you can so that we can create a record of each man’s experience. With tens of thousands of POW records already on site please help us if you can by including at least one of the following: service number, POW number or date of birth.
