I believe my father and his brother were at Stalag VIIIB. He was part of the Afrika Corp taken at Tobruk
My father was Cpl. Leslie A Pett # 1749
His brother was Cpl. Montague Pett # 1748

I have a bible from the American Bible Society that is inscribed T. H. D. Whitfield*, Lamsdorf Germany July 10th,1941. I do not know the circumstances as to how or when he acquired the bible because Dad would not talk about his time as a POW. He would show us the bible and vowed to return it to the man’s family. Dad has since passed on and I found this when going through his things.
