My grandfather only shared the story of how he was captured and where he was held shortly before he passed away. He was born on June 29th 1914 and passed away on November 4th, 2013, aged 99. He was captured on the island of Crete in 1940. Whilst a prisoner in Stalag VIIIB he worked in one of the hospital units.
