I would welcome any informaton or contacts concerning my father, James (Jim) Poole, who spent most of the war as a pow at lamsdorf. He was a private in the East Lancs Fusiliers and his family home was salford, lancs. He received a machine gun burst to his left arm and had sharpnel in his right leg during the fighting near dunkirk. He became fluent in german (and several other languages) during his period at the camp and also mentioned, several times, a connection between the camp and Auschwitz, though the use of pow ‘working parties’. My father passed away some years ago but i would like to assemble as much information about his wartime experiences as possible for the benefit of his grandchildren, my son and daughter, Alex and Zoe.
