Whilst looking through papers of my late aunt Bessie Pope who ran a canteen for soldiers and factory workers in Rye, Sussex during WWII. I found a postcard to her from a Sergeant James G Potter 25307, from Stalag VIIIB.

It is dated 7 Nov 1942. It wishes her a happy Christmas and says how much he misses “all the boys and good old Rye”.

I think he may have been a Canadian.
