Lawrence was never a well man for the rest of his life, he died on 14th February 1990 at Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire, of Bilateral Bronchopneumonia.

We can’t establish whether or not he was on a Long March – he arrived in the UK on 19th May 1945 and was described in Army records as (1) Released POW and (2) Escaped POW.

On arrival he was diagnosed to be Disabled suffering from Aggravated Schizophrenia Paranoid.

He was my wife’s Uncle.
