My Grandfather was in POW camp 66 between 1942-1943
His name was William Christopher Slayford. He is sadly no longer with us but lived to a fair age living in London.
I am trying to put together his Journey. He was a gunner in the 49th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment Royal Artillery & escaped to Switzerland in October 1943

As a child I remember him showing me his medals & telling me he was in a camp in Italy.
I believe there is a possible link with a church in Switzerland but have no more information.
