Having read the article regarding Lamsdorf may I offer some information about my uncle who according to the ICRC records had spent some time there.
James Tallon, born 24/04/1913 in Dublin, enlisted in Belfast 1940, joined the Royal Ulster Rifles Army Number 7018373. Transferred to Special Service Brigade and then 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment as it was formed at Ringway Manchester, his listed rank on the ICRC records is Sergeant.
Captured North Africa 03/02/1943 place called Jebel Monsour. Sent to Dulag Luft. POW No 27583 and then Stalag VIIIB LamsdorfLast record states he was in Stalag IIIA on the 24/05/1944. I believe he returned to the UK in May 1945
