Tullett, Walter Robert
Medical Orderly Walter Robert (Bob) Tullett
Information provided by Tullett’s son in law:
Bob Tullett (Walter Robert Tullett) was my wife’s father. He was in the RAMC and captured on Crete. At Stalag VIIIB he spent a great deal of time teaching music and organising and conducting a choir, singing classical music. He also led a successful production of The Mikado. He survived the march out of the camp to become a music teacher. Among the first things he organised as a teacher after the war was a choir exchange between his school and a school in Germany.
The family has a diary that he kept from 1941 until just before the march.
From Melindwr Williams. 07/06/2024
He was a tutor at the camp, teaching music. He conducted a camp choir and organised classical music concerts in the camp.
He is mentioned in The Clarion, number 6 page 13.
