Information provided by John Turnell.

My father, William Walter Turnell, was a POW in Stalag VIIIB from around 22nd July 1943 according to a capture card sent to me via the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross). He was a Bombardier in the Royal Artillery. His service number was 922768 and his POW No. was 222047. He was transferred from a POW camp in Italy where he was captured in October 1942.
