My father, I understand, was a prisoner of war in Poland – Stalag VIIIB. I have two photos of groups of soldiers which shows my father, and they are stamped on the back Stalag VIIIB. My father is dead now, and he never particularly talked about his time in Poland only to say he was fairly well treated and worked at a Paper Mill. I of course never asked him, and now, too late would like to know more about his time there. I have sent for his army records, which will take 6/8 months to come, to identify more precisely how long he was away.
