Subject: Horace Walker

I possess a bible given to me as a young boy by R.A.M.C Driver Horace Walker (nickname Mick) British Prisoner of War No. 1990 Stalag VIIIB.

He was taken prisoner after the evacuation from Dunkirk being one of the R.A.M.C personnel who remained to care for the wounded.

There is some evidence that prior to being in Stalag VIIIB he was in Stalag VIIB. I recall being told that he escaped from one camp in Germany and was recaptured in France.

On repatriation he was sick in body and mind, disappeared and never did marry my aunt who remained faithful to him during his absence.
