Hi my name is Alan Grandson of William Dorien Warne MM

I have some photos and information my dad gave me that grandad was captured in Dunkirk awarded the military medal.

In 1940 he was taken to Dulag VI A then to Stalag VI A then finally to Stalag VIIIB and was there from 1940-1943.

He was one of a 500 I think repatriated by Red Cross as part of prisoner exchange.

That’s all my father has of his dad. He is the eldest son but there’s nothing, no one knows where any of his records are. In the group photo below with other POWS he has x above head. Below that is his wife and the son he had not seen since a baby, sent to him by his wife while in camp.
