My father Jack Whalley of the Royal Sussex Regiment was a prisoner at Lamsdorf. Captured at Alamein. He worked in the coal mines attached to Lamsdorf. When he left for the long march, he teamed up with another prisoner named Bill? All I know of him is that he was a commercial artist prior to his call up. I have my late father’s papers and will search for more info concerning this man. My dad said they kept each other alive. So, I will do my best to find Bill.
