My Grandfather, James Whiteside, was captured at Abbeville, France in May 1940 and was marched to Poland where he was interned at Blechammer until the end of the war.

On the march to Poland he met up with his brother, William Patrick Whiteside, who had been captured in Calais and they both remained at Blechammer until the end of the war.
